As the rain began to fall in Millersville on Friday afternoon, Fisher Druck was taking the mound for his 2nd JV start this season. In his first start, Druck came 2 outs away from a 7-inning no-hitter. In this game, he continued to dominate on the mound and went 5 innings without surrendering a hit to the hosting Penn Manor Comets.
The JV Blue Streaks got on the board early to set Druck up for success. An Evan Clark single and Dylan King double put runners on 2nd and 3rd with only 1 out in the top of the 1st. During Druck's first AB, Clark scored on a wild pitch to give Township a 1-0 lead. Druck struck out 2 and walked 1 in the bottom of the 1st. Both teams were retired 1-2-3 in their halves of the 2nd inning to keep the score 1-0 MT.
Caden Brubaker walked to lead off the 3rd inning and later scored off Clark's 2nd single of the game. With a 2-0 lead, Druck quickly escaped the bottom of the 3rd after surrendering another walk to the Comets. Township picked up another insurance run in the top of the 4th off a Penn Manor error. Ben Shenosky scored after hitting a single and being moved up on the bases on a Michael Heckman single. The Blue Streaks final run came in the 5th after Clark singled again and scored on the throw off of a Ryan Flury single. With a 4-0 lead, Druck sat down the last three Penn Manor batters to complete the 5-inning no hitter. Druck's final stat line - W, 0 hits, 6K, 2BB.
With this win, Township JV has now started the season 6-0.
