Colin Yablonski took the hill on this warm Spring afternoon to make his 5th start of the season. Coming off 3 wins in his last 3 starts, Yablonski continued to look dominant in the 1st inning as he struck out 2 L-S batters in a 1-2-3 inning. Township's Ryan Jones picked up a single in the bottom of the 1st, but neither team broke the early 0-0 tie.

L-S was first to score in this game as they tagged Yablonski for 3 runs in the top of the 2nd. Those runs came on a pair of singles, a fielding error, and a SAC fly. L-S put runners on base again in the 3rd, but was unable to expand their 3-0 lead. Township had two runners on base in the bottom of the 3rd after a Drew Sassaman walk and Brenden Moshos single, however, neither runner was able to score.

The Pioneers struck again in the top of the 4th as they scored an insurance run on a pair of singles to make it 4-0. Township went quiet at the plate in the 4th and 5th innings before only getting one base runner, Ben DeMarco, in the 6th. In the meantime, L-S grabbed 3 more runs to push their lead to 7 as we entered the bottom of the 7th inning.

The Blue Streaks made some noise late in this game as they led off the bottom of the 7th with 3 consecutive doubles. Kyle Musser, Colin Fitzgerald, and Will Greiner each doubled to the outfield to quickly make it 7-2 with no outs. After a fly ball that moved Greiner to 3rd, a Sassaman ground ball brought Greiner home from 3rd to make it 7-3. Township was retired on the next batter and their hope for a comeback was snuffed out.

This was Varsity's first loss since their 2nd game of the season and they now hold a record of 11-3. With the loss, Yablonski now has a 3-2 record with a 1.69 ERA over his 6 appearances this season.

Next Game: Township is back in action on Tuesday afternoon at Solanco in a make-up game from earlier last week.
