Recap
Kicking off the final quarter of the season, the Manheim Township Blue Streaks hosted the Central Dauphin Rams on Friday evening under the lights at Westfield Insurance Park. Before the game, the 2025 Blue Streaks’ seniors were honored along side their families as part of the annual Senior Night.
Alex Miller, starting for Township, worked a quick top of the 1st inning using a line out, pop out, and fly out to retire the Rams early on.
Jacob Carrasco, leading off for the Blue Streaks, lined the first pitch he saw up the middle to give the Blue Streaks an early baserunner in the bottom of the 1st. Three consecutive walks with two outs later in the inning forced Carrasco home and the Blue Streaks took an early 1-0 lead. A strikeout left the bases loaded for Township.
A pair of Rams singles to start the top of the 2nd gave the road team a chance to respond on the scoreboard. Miller worked a strikeout and was assisted by Carrasco throwing out the runner at first base during the next AB. Another strikeout ended the top of the 2nd and preserved the 1-0 MT lead. Central Dauphin knotted the game at 1-1 after some 2-out pokes put runners on second and third. A line drive to
Alex Derderian in left field allowed one run to score, but he quickly fired the ball home to Carrasco who easily apply a tag to the runner attempting to score from second.
A 1-out walk to Miller in the bottom of the 4th, gave Township their first baserunner since the 1st inning. An infield error on a
Lincoln Stoltzfus grounder sent courtesy runner
Sebastian Llessi to third base and left runners on the corners still with only one out.
Connor Delvecchio used some small ball in laying down an RBI bunt single to give Township the lead back, 2-1. Central Dauphin escaped another bases-loaded jam, again with a strikeout, to end the 4th.
Tallying only 56 pitches through the first five innings, Miller continued into the 6th inning on the mound. A 4-6-3 double play from Delvecchio to
Jack Kenneff to
Angelo Billiard gave Miller another fast inning and kept the lefty in the game into the 7th.
Dio Acosta picked up a pair of RBIs with a single up the middle that scored Stoltzfus and Delvecchio to extend Township’s lead 4-1 in the bottom of the 6th. Miller returned to the mound and needed only 10 pitches to finish off the game in the bottom of the 7th and cap off a fantastic Senior Night with a win, 4-1.
