Warwick picked up an early run in the 1st inning of this game to take a 1-0 lead into the 2nd inning. Luke Wenger got the start for the Blue Streaks JV squad and only allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits with a couple of strikeouts. Dylan King came in to pitch in relief during the 5th inning of this game. Township went back and forth with the Warriors all afternoon as they traded runs to end up with Warwick holding a 4-2 lead in the top of the 6th.

With 1 out, Josh Emge got the offense started for Township with a single to center field. King followed up with a single of his own after J. Emge stole 2nd base. Ryan Jones brought Township a run closer after a single past the 2nd baseman brought home J. Emge from 3rd. The Blue Streaks scored the tying and go-ahead runs on an infield error off of Drew Sassaman‘s bat that scored Jones and courtesy runner Nick Koser. Township was retired before scoring any other runs in the inning, but they held a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the 6th where the Warriors tied up the game 5-5. Neither team had any action on the bases in the 7th inning so this game moved into extras.

Township batted first in the 8th and found their offensive groove again. Kyle Donton was hit by a pitch before moving to 2nd on a Sassaman bunt single. Sam Emge laid down a bunt single to load the bases for MT to set up Collin Arms for a bases-clearing double that broke open an 8-5 Township lead. With 1 out, Kyle Musser singled to the left side of the infield to bring Arms around from 2nd base to give MT a 9-5 lead. The 4-run half inning was all that Evan Clark needed on the mound to end this game for Township 9-5. The JV Blue Streaks are now 10-4 on the season with 3 games to play.

Next Game: Township JV will play J.P McCaskey at home on Friday (5/4) afternoon at 4:15pm. Come out and stay late for the varsity game and celebrate Senior Night and MTBSA night at the ballpark.
