JV: Township strikes early and holds off Warwick JV 4-2
The Junior Varsity Blue Streaks were able to play back-to-back games this week after missing their first few games of the season last week. The Warwick JV team visited on Friday afternoon underneath overcast skies for a matchup of the Route 501 foes.
Manheim Township got on the board early in the 1st inning thanks to a Sam Emge double that drove in a run for the Blue Streaks. Collin Arms also drove in a run for the JV squad and finished the day 3 for 3 with a double, triple, and a run scored. Kyle Musser (4 for 4), Drew Sassaman, and Jake Schaefer also scored for the Blue Streaks. The Warriors tagged Township for 2 runs in the 3rd inning but the score never got closer than 4-2.

Connor Vucovich had a solid outing on the mound for the Blue Streaks as he pitched 5 2/3 innings while only giving up four hits and two runs and striking out 8 Warwick batters. Caden Brubaker got a 4-out save for the JV Streaks – his first of the season. JV is now 2-0 on the season thus far.
Next Game: The JV team will face Cumberland Valley on Saturday (4/7) at 11:00am for their third game in as many days.
