Hempfield Varsity Black Knights defeated Manheim Township Varsity Blue Streaks 6-0 on Friday thanks in part to four runs in the third inning.

Hempfield Varsity Black Knights opened the scoring in the top of the third thanks to three singles. Hempfield Varsity Black Knights first got on the board when Camden Hulock singled, scoring one run.

Logan Dougherty earned the win for Hempfield Varsity Black Knights. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over six and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking three. Tyler Shirk took the loss for Manheim Township Varsity Blue Streaks. The right-handed pitcher went five innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out five and walking two.

Jacob Carrasco led Manheim Township Varsity Blue Streaks with one hit in three at bats.

Hempfield Varsity Black Knights collected 10 hits in the game. Braedon Eck provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hempfield Varsity Black Knights with two runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Kieran Reihart and Derek Katch each collected two hits for Hempfield Varsity Black Knights. Hempfield Varsity Black Knights had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Brayden Rishell and Landon Charles led the team with two bases on balls each.
