Lincoln Stoltzfus was dominant on the mound, as the starting pitcher rang up 10 strikeouts in Manheim Township Varsity Blue Streaks’s 12-2 victory over J.P. McCaskey Varsity Red Tornado on Monday. Stoltzfus gave up six hits and two runs over five innings while walking four.

Manheim Township Varsity Blue Streaks got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Jacob Carrasco homered to left field, J.P. McCaskey Varsity Red Tornado committed an error, and Landon Crane grounded into a fielder’s choice, each scoring one run.

Manheim Township Varsity Blue Streaks added one run in the second. Jack Kenneff hit a sacrifice fly, making the score 4-0.

Manheim Township Varsity Blue Streaks added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Grant Wilson grounded out, and Dio Acosta doubled, each scoring one run.

Hernandez took the loss for J.P. McCaskey Varsity Red Tornado. The southpaw went three innings, surrendering seven runs (two earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking four.

Manheim Township Varsity Blue Streaks collected nine hits in the game. Carrasco and Acosta each collected two hits for Manheim Township Varsity Blue Streaks. Nolan Peters went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Alex Derderian led Manheim Township Varsity Blue Streaks with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game.

Nikoli Bergeron led J.P. McCaskey Varsity Red Tornado with two hits in three at bats. Christopher Ruggiero and Bergeron each drove in one run for J.P. McCaskey Varsity Red Tornado.
